Bumble, a dating service in which females make the first move, is introducing a spin-off variant enabling members to forge professional connections ala LinkedIn.
Bumble Bizz emulates the same Tinder-esque swiping action of its progenitor, enabling women to forge ahead with bolstering their business contacts by building their own contacts list.
Launching the new tool Bumble announced: “By empowering women to make the first move in Bumble Bizz, we expect to see the same positive behavior and low abuse rates we’ve seen on our other platforms. Just like your Bumble and Bumble BFF profiles, Bumble Bizz will use the same photo verification tool to ensure the people you’re connecting with are who they say they are. There are many ways to showcase your professional qualifications in your Bumble Bizz profile.”
Launched in the USA, Canada, the UK, France and Germany Bumble Bizz aims to build further on the success of the original, which has facilitated over 3bn sent messages, by providing a fun alternative to po-faced LinkedIn.
As a feminist rival to Tinder, Bumble has so far registered 21 million users. Plans for the new platform first emerged back in July.
