Hotels.com Introduces In-app Mobile Concierge

Hotels.com has introduced new mobile concierge feature to its app. The Hotels.com Concierge, powered by Button Marketplace, connects consumers to local products and services on the day their hotel stay begins.

The concierge, currently only available on iOS, leverages location data to offer customers access to services such as Uber’s transportation, Delivery.com’s on-demand food delivery, OpenTable’s restaurant reservations, and Groupon activities.

Daniel Craig, senior director of mobile at Hotels.com brand, said: “Mobile is changing the way people travel, and at the forefront of that we’re constantly innovating and investing in mobile, to offer more than just hotel bookings. We want to make our customers lives easier before, during and after their trip.”

A Hotels.com commissioned OnePoll survey, of 8,377 respondents from 28 countries, found that 46 per cent of travellers would be happy to use a mobile concierge service – with restaurant reservations and directions topping the list of what travellers would ask for from the service.
